IV. Character BiographyÂ
Character Name: Ayric Hawksley (Aee·ric Hawk·sley)
Age:Â 27
Nicknames: Hawk (To friends, colleagues, compansions, etc); AyAy (Aee·Aee) (Family nickname; given to him by his youngest sibling, Melvona, when she was very young and had difficulties saying his name.)
Occupation:Â Mercenary, Tracker, Hunter
Unique details:Â Ayric has a scar over his right eye from the events of the war and calamity. It serves as a constant reminder to him of what he fights for. His hair color is reddish brown in color, and he keeps in a rough ponytail with the sides trimmed short. He keeps his facial hair trimmed, but untreated - leaving the imperfect patches along the edges.
At first glance:
Ayric is a good-hearted archer and tracker who always puts other individual's needs before his own. He is clever, daring, and undaunted by the dangers of the world, always ready to face the day and whatever challenges that go along with it. Ayric possesses a dry sense of humor—especially during a serious or dangerous situation—which sometimes make those around him wonder if he is being serious.
Ayric is a very loyal and honest individual. When a promise or pledge is made to an individual or organization, he lives and dies by his word. Because of this he is very calculated in nature, keeping his personal feelings in check while viewing the bigger picture of any given situation—or try his best to. This is by no means a dominant trait, rather a trait he puts effort into keeping. He is not perfect and is certainly guilty of letting his emotions and personal feelings get the better of him from time to time. When they do, he could become reckless in his actions and decisions.
Ayric is prodigiously skilled with a bow by trade. He practices daily with his family bow and makes his own arrows—rarely ever using arrows that are not his own out of superstition.
Story:
Early Life
Ayric was the oldest of 3 children to Franc and Vicktoria Hawksley, traveling merchants and hunters on the outskirts of Gridania. Franc would do the hunting and collecting of raw materials, while Vicktoria would do the preparing and selling. She was always the one with more charisma and their arrangement was very fruitful for many years. With the success of their sales and connections made they were able to eventually build a cabin in a secluded part of the forest. This assisted Franc Hawskley in his hunting as he grew older and could no longer travel long distances. This also made for an interesting environment to grow up in.
The Hawksley children—Ayric, Dayvid, and Melvona—grew up learning to live off the land. They were raised on the foundation of hard work, and unfortunately little play. Ayric took this element of development with pride, quickly enforcing the daily chores upon his siblings—which didn't make him the most beloved brother, at times. Over the early years he received his education from books his father would bring back from town, or hands-on training provided from his father. The more he learned of the world, the more he wanted to explore it. He found a strong interest particularly in Limsa Lominsa, and the sea. The interest took hold in his early 20s and he eventually said goodbye to his family and moved on in search of his dream.
The Calamity, and war before it, rocked Eorzea not long after his arrival in Limsa Lominsa. Following the catastrophic events, Ayric returned home and found no trace of his family. Over the next 5 years he has been offering his bow for service to help the realm, mostly spending his time in Limsa Lominsa and assisting where he can.

II. RP StyleÂ
Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
- I would have to say Medium. Right now I'm enjoying the game, being new, and leveling my character. I'll probably be in the light-medium range starting out, but once I get my character leveled and I experience the world a little more - it will begin leaning towards the Heavy category.Â
- I'm perfectly fine with RP combat and injuries as long as it's used to progress a story and all parties are on the same page. I'm against it in the sense of someone just having a big ego and picking fights. God-moding, if you will.Â
- I've always enjoyed the romance in storytelling. One that comes to mind is the Dragon Age/Mass Effect series. The added element always brings more to the overall picture/story.Â
- I view these the same as I do the romantic ones. Emotional connections in general.
- I'm still learning the overall lore of FFXIV, but all RPing should be done with respect to the lore that's already created in the universe. This shouldn't be touched or altered in anyway, in my opinion.
- I tend to keep /say to IC primarly, using indicators to filter OOC speak. Linkshells should be used exclusively as IC or OOC, rather then mixed.Â
