Okay, usually when I join a forum/community, I've had the habit of lurking for the longest time, reading everything I can possibly read so that when I do jump in I sound like I know what I am talking about. Â Then I've lurked for so long, that I talk myself from getting actively involved. Â I know, it's pretty silly.
So today is the day I break that trend, because while I've been drinking up the lore wherever I can find it, I don't think I will ever know enough where I will comfortable in this new world that I have just discovered. And I am now impatient to get into the fun of roleplaying with all the posts I'm reading here.
Greetings fellow roleplayers!
I am new to Balmung and very new to Final Fantasy. Â I recently purchased the game because after a year of being away from the world of MMORPG, I grew restless and wanted to try a new experience. Â And while I never played the original incarnation of FFXIV, I've always been a fan of Final Fantasy since the days of Cloud and Aeris! And then I found this forum, and I was hooked!
I played World of Warcraft for seven years, so I am no stranger to the world of MMORPG. Â But in my years of playing and raiding on WoW, I've never found a community to roleplay with, despite the fact that I was on a roleplay server.
Now that I am returning to try a new MMORPG, I am hoping to start on a better footing by rolling a character on a server that seems to have an active and friendly roleplaying community. Â And I am breaking my usual behavior of lurking for the longest time, and just jumping in with both feet!
My character level is still pretty low, I am eager to get my first chocobo this weekend. But I will still partake in any roleplaying opportunities that may come my way, if you will have a wee gladiator around.
And despite my best efforts, after reading pages after pages of lore, I still don't think I am really well versed in the Final Fantasy lore. Â Maybe I am just trying to remember too much all at once. Â So if I do encounter you in character and I mess up a few details, please feel free to correct me! Â My character, Roen, has reasons to get things mixed up anyways. But she does not mean to.
Anyways, I look forward to seeing some of you around in game!Â
