II. RP Style
- Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
A bit on the light side at the moment while I'm still dipping my feet in the pool, but my preferred range is medium to heavy. I play the game largely for more mobility around the world to RP with.
- Views on RP combat and injuries:
Combat is fun! My guy usually just sort've throws himself around like a fool, so scuffles are bound to happen when he steps on the wrong toes. Conflict is an inevitability in life, and I embrace it here as a fun way to throw twists into RP. I prefer an attempt-and-roll system of fighting for more unpredictable results, and will adjust my own /roll chances based on any handicaps that might be in place (leg caught in a bear trap? -10 to the chances of dodging). As for injuries...in a world with potions and magic readily accessible in all but the most extreme of situations, a wound left untended is bound to have some significance. Also, character levels have little place in roleplay, so I disregard them.
- Views on IC romance:
Sammich time!
- Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):
Sammich was tasty. Non-romantic RP is welcome and sought after! Drinking buddies, long-lost kin, business partners, rivals, enemies---all sorts of connections are golden, so long as it's interesting.
- Views on lore:
Lore is wonderful, and with a Final Fantasy in particular, it's what sets this world apart from others as something really special. Keeping my RP true to the lore is a part of what makes the experience fun and unique, to me. A little lore-bending is just peachy, so long as it isn't done like it's going out of style or done with a totally lore-friendly option staring you in the face. Lore-breaking, though, should be avoided whenever possible. If you feel that you have to introduce something completely outside the realm of a world's reality in order to accomplish what you want, you probably haven't thought it through enough.
- Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
/say ---> In character speech/actions, with or without quotation marks.
/em ---> In character actions/speech, the latter within quotation marks.
/whisper ---> Used sometimes for literally whispered utterances in RP. Otherwise, OOC.
/yell ---> Usually in character if, y'know...someone's yelling.
/party ---> OOC...unless we're /p RPing, o'course.
