...okay, this title is bad.Â It sounds like a pedobear mountain retreat.Â o.oÂ So I should clarify what the hell I'm on about.

Seeing the Magitek Armor as a rideable mount when 2.0 was being announced made me squee like a chorus of mice after eating a fallen Sweet Tart.Â I figured that was the high point--this is it.Â There's NOW way they can come up with different mounts.

....up until I saw the steroid-abusing Behemoth mount as part of the Vet Rewards.Â Now THAT was a mind-blower.

It got me wondering...what other mounts would people like to see?Â Clearly, they're willing to see differing mounts in this game, so besides different colored chocobos, what else would make a neat mount do you guys think?

As a collector of mounts and minions alike, I have oddly enough had a list of what I would like to see as a mount. So, without further ado:

- Chained Hecatoncheir: Hecatoncheir are the giants found in the Copperbell Mines. The Goobue mounts have already proven that this game has the base model for a shoulder-sitting mount. Plus, from a lore standpoint, the giants -DID- once have mind controlling helmets on, what's to say we cannot control one once more? Sure, those helmets broke eventually, costing many miners their lives but... Small cost for a new mount, no?

- Bomb: You heard me right. I want a Bomb as a mount. White Mages get a Unicorn, why couldn't Black Mages have a Bomb? It is shown in 2.0 that Bombs can be conjured via aetherial thaumaturgy (ie. the Cherry Bomb minion) and given that said minion does not detonate every time you summon it, it's safe to assume you can have a bomb "on your side". If it's still hostile... RED WIRE OR THE BLUE WIRE!?

- Glacial Coeurl: "But we already have the Coeurl as a mount!", I hear you cry. Whilst this may be true, I am speaking of the Wanted Target during Coerthas levequests. This is a snow white coeurl whom's more lizard-like features are black. He also has an awesome pair of horn things either near or sprouting from them the coeurl's signature whiskers. (It's been a while. I don't remember entirely.)

- Multi-Coloured Chocobos: Kind of a staple in the Final Fantasy games. Give us red! Give us blue! Give us black! I would also love to see a verdant green or purple chocobo. ALL THE CHOCOBOS! Â Chocobo

- Citizen Snips (Red) / Mr. Pinch (Blue): Two colour variations of the same mount, a crab mount. I'm not fussy on which model they use (the smoother, rounder model as seen with the Smallshell or the rougher, angrier looking Snipper model). I imagine sitting on these mounts would be the same poses as the Ahriman mount.

- Mog: We get Cait Sith as a minion. Where there is Cait Sith so, too, must there be MOG!

Others:

- Peiste
- Aldgoat
- Raptor

Also, completely un-related. I would like some additional races for my Market Retainers. Most notably, Qiqirn and Goblins.

I'm someone on the opposite end of the spectrum. I dislike the various mounts. I like chocobos and that's it. Â ._.

I can appreciate that.Â Understand, though, that 6 was my ALL-TIME FAVORITE HOMGAWD Final Fantasy game.Â Anything that gets me closer to Terra Branford immediately gets my heart.

On point....

WOW Asgarn, you REALLY have thought this through!Â I love the ideas!Â I'm pretty sure multi-colored chocobos are a given, but the possibilities for the color combinations are exciting.

All I personally wish for is for Terra's Theme to play whenever we ride our Magiteks.Â That's all I want....Â ; ;

I just want them to add more class quest mounts like they did with Whitemage Iv only really thought about what Bard would be and here it is.

A parade float being dragged by some creature with your character playing music in the middle whilst dancers dance on both sides.

I actually really like that idea.Â Surprise

Â It might have to be toned down slightly, purely because I could see it being a case of "THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY BARDS ARE HAVING A MEETING IN MOR DHONA!", they all mount up, everybody's PC blows up from the lag. (I mean, Mor Dhona is arguably the highest populated zone at peak time, plus the countless effects that said mount would require.) But still, I like it a lot. Smile

I suppose for other class mounts, they might be:

Paladin - A white chocobo in "valiant steed"-like barding. Like the white steeds of old, but in bird form.

Black Mage - Bomb. Already said this. GIEF BOMB!

Monk - Some form of coeurl in barding (unlike the current "nude coeurl" as I like to call it). I cannot think of much else for a Monk.

Warrior - A darker version of the Paladin mount, maybe more spikes. Because spikes are cool.

Summoner - Your choice of Primal to ride and CRUSH YOUR FOES. Ha, I kid. I was thinking perhaps Fenrir, the moon avatar. I mean, he's a cool looking wolf, about mount size. Could work!

The rest, I'm not so sure what they would have.Â Geek

Dragoon:Â A regal horse with similarly styled Dragoon-y barding.Â I mean, freakin' REGAL.Â Ishgardian stock and all that.

Scholar:Â ....uhmmm...being carried by a buncha faeries a la Morrigan from Darkstalkers?Â I dunno...Â >.>;;

Personally, I'm gonna RP my Beady Eye pet to follow me around and transform into a "travel size" Ahriman mount through a spell or command when I get my Dark Knight.

(Yes, I HAVE put too much thought into this.Â XD )

I only use Goliath, Yves' chocobo, IC. I'd love to have more colors (especially black) for our horsebirds. But I love my Behemoth and Magitek Armor mounts, like you, because of classic FF (especially 6) nostalgia. I want an Adamantoise for sure, a giant stuffed Mog a la Cait Sith, those boars in the Shroud for humor, and maybe a Coerthas wolf.

Something I found hilarious about the game is that chocobos, who are transportation animals, are allowed to fight alongside you while coeurls, gobbues, drakes and the magitech armors can't, even though it makes more sense for all of those to fight on your side.

So that's my hope: that they'll let me use my magiteck armor to blast things in the face.

More on topic, though, I'd like some normal looking horse. The unicorns and nightmares are kind of...thin and weird.

I kinda want a Treant from the Shroud as a mount. I've always dug the design and think it would be cool, like a living tree base when I was a boy!

Another mount I'd like to see is just a off the wall silly one. A King Tonberry mount. I want to walk up behind people I know and scare the ever living wits out of them with a mount like that.

Finally, a Dullahan or Iron Giant. Just want.
