I am fairly new to the RP in ffxiv and I previously played on another server before coming to this one.I came to Balmung to RP sadly the RP I have gotten do far is very slow and lacking in excitement.
While I do enjoy my chats with people here and there I really want to get into some thick plot Â development sadly I do not know a while lot of people that are willing to offer me some role in a more action like RP.
My characters name is Malon Abbey, a young midlander Hyur girl.
If anyone wants to do some RP with me let me know in game or on the forums.

At this current moment Malon is drifting, she is stubborn and slowly coming to the truth that her little sister is gone.
Malon holds onto her families pride, even though they were poor, they would always pay their way.
Malon even though a drifter is still practising her Lancing art, with this she has been hunting and collecting items to sell to the many venders.

Firstly, welcome to the community Big Grin

Secondly, in order to get involved in heavy plots, your character either needs to have reason to, or have connections.

For example, being from Ishgard could get you into the Ishgard plot I run. OR, ICly knowing an ex-Ishgard character could get you involved. I am not saying you should do this, I am just using it as an example.

There are several plots happening right now. A Garlean one, Free Company ones, several in Ul'dah involving political warfare (I think), and maybe even one starting in Gridania soon.

That "less-exciting" RP you do establishes connections that could eventually lead to getting involved in a plot. Or, you need to learn the lore and weave together a back-story that will fit with a plot of interest.

As for what you have listed so far in your link, I can recommend one thing. My Lancer lessons Big Grin

My character gives Lancer lessons once a week in Gridania. Unless your character is already a graduate of the Lancer's guild, you could attend and learn alongside Kiht's other students. There will be some action through training, and field exercises. Who knows, you may even meet characters who will get your character involved in plots.

Malon!!! *Lalajump* Welcome! Ruru often wanders around hunting and such or can be found in Ul'dah. Just let me know in game and we can set something up. Big Grin

I've seen you in the world before. I recognize the name. Well my friend and I always do open world RP when we can, to the point where yesterday I attempted to instigate some when finding a player taking on a FATE alone in Gridania where they were hunting a beast of trophy worthy game. They left... but anyway while I have been playing again for less than a month so far I've been on for hours a day when I'm not at work and am also looking to get into some deeper plots or get to know more people.

It's not much but if you ever meet August Lansborough again in the world feel free to chat. Who knows, we can all work together to produce something.

If you ever need a RP partner, feel free to find me, or if you see me, don't be shy! I love walking into random RP. Eudalie is usually in Ul'dah or Gridania ICly. And as Lightning said, (I'm his homie), it's fun to put stuff together in character. ^ ^
