Hello!

I really like setting the scene of my role-playing, both in and out of my Eorzean experience, and I'd like to share with you all some things that I've created to get myself more into my character's mind while playing.

A bit of back story: I'm a Lalafell who owns the Free Company 'Gather Corporation <GCorp>', who has a small office in the 8th Ward of the Goblet, Ul'Dah. When I recruit new members, they become a Trainee and we sit down and discuss what they would like to specialise in within the FC (Ranks are as followed: Gather, Miner, Fisher, Crafter).

On my desk in-game, I have furnishings like these:[Image: g546y4f.jpg]

I loved playing the character like this, and I was inspired to create to real 'documents'/'flyers' that looked genuinely from Eorzea. Have a look:

'Declaration of New Free Company' - I want something to officiate the formation of my FC, so I created this document to imitate that. It has the 'signatures' of Grand Companies to acknowledge the new Free Company's existence. I then dipped it in tea, tore a bit of the sides and then dried it with a blow dryer to get the parchment-like effect. I would have liked this to have been on fancy cream 'qualification' paper with metallic gold foil engraved but I haven't a clue about how to achieve that effect. Tea treasure maps had to do. Tongue

A document to show that an FC member had completed his training and had become a Miner, as well as receiving the 200k gil that had been offered.

This document actually has some real world use to it too. It details the job, item, time, location and slot numbers of Unspoiled Nodes. Handy to look at if you can't remember exactly when and where they spawn.

I like this poster that can be found in-game too. I wanted one for Maelstrom and the Immortal Flames but couldn't find a high enough resolution picture to print Sad

The ensemble.

What ideas do you guys have for real life decorations that could be easily made? I'm wanting to add more things to my gaming corner! An Ul'Dah incense burner would be pretty sweet to have on my table! Wink

I was looking at making some of the wound up scrolls like in the first picture, but I'd need to find some leather to make the band and also something to put onto the scrolls. Maybe some bills from the Hunt? Would any of you be able to fashion a Hunt Bill that looks similar to the ones that appear in-game?

What ideas do you guys have? Big Grin

These are pretty incredible. I'm envious, because I've got no creative yen of my own to do something like this with.

maybe after the tea bath and blowout with the hair dryer (dapper idea btw and i love the effect!) use a gold gelpen for the ink? i'd say before but not sure if the tea would dull the ink from the pen (unless you want it that way, of course)

I've just had a thought, have you looked on Etsy? Maybe you could commission some from people there if you're feeling inspired and lazy Laugh

could but i really like making them x3 i made a set of triforce, kinstone, sea salt ice cream earrings (those were matched with a papu fruit necklace) so i really enjoy that sort of thing and i'm already debating on what materials to use or how to go about it. x3

These are awesome! I might have to make my own Twin Adders poster. I've actually given serious thought to making a Goobbue rug like the housing item. I may have to just make it a tapestry though because constructing a sufficiently durable rug is very challenging.

I thought about making a life size, hi-res cardboard cutout of my character just because I can.

I decided to use my 2 hours spare at work to whip up a Hunt Bill from the Immortal Flames.
I tried to keep as faithful to the original in game, but with only MS Paint and Word to help me, some things eluded me. But I did my best!

The Hunt Bill for a Taurus! This time a coffee bath was used XD

As I said a few days ago that I wanted to try make myself a scroll, I thought that a hunt bill would be a good reason to scroll up! Faux leather strap and binding.

Mr. Kupo will hold on to it for me Wink
