To those who remember, when the servers were shut down at the end of 1.0, some rpers held vigil as the moon fell and the world came to an end.

This time things are brighter, this is the end of 2.0, but this time the world has hope as we step into the future. Even though it is a happy turn as opposed to a sad one, I think we owe 2.0 a good send off. 2.0 has been good to us, and despite the short notice, I think a good send off is in order...

Erik has spent a few days in Dragonhead speaking with representatives of the Holy See as they ready the way to the opening of the gates to Ishgard. He seeks to have his ordination made official by the Holy See, and in that has been asked, along with any other clergy to lead a blessing at the Steps of Faith....

The event will be held at the Steps of Faith at 1am edt on June 18 before the 24 hour maintenance. There will be an ic blessing given to all the brave souls about to step into the future. Any clergy rpers are welcome to help me ic bless the masses.

Also included will be a bit of ooc, talking about our adventures and love of this game and our community. To wish eachother luck.

So come on out! The event part will meet in Dragonhead and lead/guard the group to the Steps.

There are clearly some differing opinions here, and that's fine, but this is an event post, not a discussion on the Holy See and what is and isn't allowed.

If you disagree with the basis that Erik has given for his event, that's totally valid. My suggestion, in that case, is to simply not acknowledge or go to the event.

If you'd like to have a discussion about the Holy See, please start a new post or send PMs directly. All other responses to *this* post should be in regard to interest in the event.
