And I try to be a night owl as much as I can, but recently having to get up at 9am each morning has hindered that a bit.

Hehe,  I am currently at work and offline which may be the reason why. But not to worry: I'm home for midnight so an hour or so left and I look forward to accept your friend request! (SQUENIX.  Y NO OFFLINE FRIEND REQUEST OPTION? )

What class are you playing?  It affects your starting area and there are three main cities: Gridania - Conjurer, Archer, Lancer. Ul'dah - Thaumaturge(sp??) Pugilist.. something.   Limsa - Arcanist,  Marauder... something.

My memory is bad, OK. I don't remember the last classes.

I'm a night owl throughout the entire week and gotten into the bad habit of ssleeping at 6am and waking up at 11th but there's so much stuff to do that sleeping gets in the way of!

See you tonight, lovely. Heart
Ah, didn't realize offline friend invites weren't a... thing. I usually wake up at 11am even on the days I don't have to be out by 9 so I can't really manage the 6am sleeps like I used to back in college. (Because 3 hours was more than enough for college of course. Laugh ) And I'm an Arcanist! About level 9 at the moment.

Just a note, some things that are "uncommon" in comparison to some other MMOs,

You also can only send mail to people on your friends list [which meens you're going to need a middle man to send stuff through alts... or an FC.]

You won't be able to send or receive "tells" [whispers] while "in another world" [dungeons, primals, pvp] though you can still talk in linkshells and FC's

Summoning your Chocobo pet [to fight alongside you, that you'll unlock later] will bunt you out of the dungeon queue.

I'm sure Europa will be able to fill you in on more differences, and you're likely to discover many on your own [like how you can hire two retainers! aka. personal banks.] but those are a few that i've seen brought up fairly often.
