Hello everyone. I've played a little bit of mmo's in the past but never really delved deep into it, and I've never been one to RP even though it has always peaked my interest because well in real life I'm a writer. So I want to say hello and I hope that I can become decent in this concept and I'm very excitedÂ Big Grin

If anyone would give me any tips or advice or even want to try to RP with me that would be awesome!

Hello Gabrial! welcome to the RPC and Eorzea!

Getting your feet wet in the proverbial RP pool can be tricky but thankfully the RPC is here to see you out into the world with all sorts of neat things! As a note, when/if you have the chance, please hop into the control panel and add your intended home server to your profile so people can more easily invite you to events, or to meet them in game and all that jazz.

This welcome post should give you a pretty good over view of the site as a whole as well as some details about the community. Clicking on some of the links you'll find yourself in the Wiki [a home to character profiles and more], the Event Calender [Come check out whats happening on Saturday! http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/calendar.ph...h=2&day=22 ] and much more.

If you'd like to brush up on your RP knowledge without jumping into the game, or just want something on hand that you can take a look at when you're feeling a bit lost, the RP Handbook by Eva is an excellent resource:

You'll find an index at the top hidden in the spoiler tag, reading through it should give you a good idea of what major points the handbook covers.

But onto the communities! Since i'm not sure what server you're on i'll give you a few of both, and maybe you'll find some traction. Just remember that these communities are so much more than I could describe and getting to know them in game is really the best way to see if you fit.

"Intermission" is an OOC linkshell on Balmung dedicated to getting roleplayers together from across the server. Want to listen in on some chatter? get to know the players before the characters? find out where the busy places are? Intermission is a great place to be for getting your foot in the door.

"Balmungs Finest" is an OOC linkshell on, you guessed it, Balmung. With an emphasis on PVE this linkshell is great for people looking to find a party for dungeons, primals and raids. Need to do Stone vigil for the story? maybe Darkhold for your grand company? BF provides groups based on fostering the community here on the server before relying on the party or duty finder.

If you play during EU times "Europa" is an excellent OOC linkshell on Balmung for those times [along the lines of intermission in getting people together.]

Welcome to the RPC! As a writer you're in good hands here. If you're looking for a FC, feel free to check out Equilibrium. We have two factions withing our FC so no matter what alignment you have you can fit. We have a page here on the RPC or you can check out some of our website.

Â I updated my profile to let you all know I am on the Balmung server as well. A friend of mine is very active in his RP so he suggested that's where I should go.

Aha! well another welcome to Balmung then! Good to hear you already have some one out there you can interact with, twelve knows it makes it easier to get in the swing of things.

Unfortunately he's a rather busy man so, find time to get together has always proven difficult.
