I have a place holder character all ready to make one, though I'm undecided upon their name or their backstory. I really, truly, need to learn about more about the Au Ra before I commit to anything.

Seconded on the "Nope we're the Single Dark Knight In All Of Eorzea" thing. I'm almost certain it's going to refer to your character as The One.

And while we're having pie in the sky wishes, I'd love to learn more about where DRKs source their power before the class releases. Somehow, though, I don't think that'll happen either.

I have my two femalesÂ Au Ras more or less planned, but I need to wait for the lore in order to finish or change their stories. Everything I've come up with so far is based on assumptions.

-For my first Au Ra, I've assumed that Au Ras are waryÂ of/unused toÂ other races,Â andÂ have either been forced out of their lands or have suddenly seen their lands filled withÂ said races. The key point is the cultural shock. She'll be a fragile girl, as wary as she's secretlyÂ curious. Her possible name will be Rune, unless the naming convention turns out to be completely different.

-For my second Au Ra, I'm assuming that (maybe some) Astrologians are able to see bitsÂ from the future through their cards. She'll be a cold and serious person, with a heart full of venom, albeit also fragile in appearance. A male Au Ra (played by K'nahli) will protect her like a soulless puppet.

I'm eager to learn about their lore *bounces*.

It's too early for me to make any solid plans yet. I'm waiting until I learn more about their lore - particularly their culture and naming conventions. I don't just make a character based on something being visually appealing or new and flashy so I'll play through the expansion on my Midlander first and then once things have settled down I'll make an Au Ra.

I have an assassin type I'd want to be an Au Ra... But I want more lore. So I know naming things, and everything. Once I know naming things I'll make a hyur with the name and start leveling buuuuuut hard to plan little more then "Yeah! Dragon girl awesomeness!"

Before you say uour character wants to hunt down/eradicate dark knights, I would suggest waiting, as we know less about them than we do the Au Ra.

Lore permitting, these are my two basic ideas:

1)
Male Au Ra Dark Knight, he sides with the Dravanians, and hunts down Dragoons to kill the threat to the dragons.

2)
Female Au Ra Astrologian (OOC class), a gambler, triple triad enthusiast and chocobo jockey. She lives and works at the Manderville Gold Saucer and seems to act like there's nothing out of that world of fun and entertainment!

Friend and I are thinking about making Au Ra siblings but I have a feeling we won't be planning much until some lore and naming conventions come up. I've already drafted my character to be a gentle giant who cowers at the slightest hint of hostility. I'd really like to try keeping a background of having been treated really badly by the Garleans but we'll see if that sticks.

Really looking forward to more reveals of this race.

I'm actually going to just be using the Au Ra as a frame for a goofy character idea I have. Mostly because of the horns, which I'm hoping will be shown on helmet models and stuff. Because, you see, I want to make a FFTA Judge.

Wait, come back, I'm serious.

I like the idea of a sort of... settler of disputes. If people want to deal with their problems with honorable combat, he'd be on hand to oversee those duels and ensure they're being done cleanly and fairly. Considering how dangerous and underhanded some people can be, it seems like it'd be an interesting job to try and play.

Plus, when I'm in a goofier mood, I could always have him shout random rules at people.

"FORBIDDEN: Mudras, RECOMMENDED: Bardsong!"

I'm kinda tempted to start with a Highlander to get him going... but Judges use big two-handed Judgeswords - and that means DRK. So having both in one seems like the way to go, but I'd probably want to at least ensure any prerequisites were outta the way - in case it's like ROG and you need to have a combat class at a certain level first before being able to access DRK.

... Plus, it'd probably help to already have a character ready to Fantasia rather than trying to squeeze in a new guy with the flood of players that will likely be trying to do the same come Heavensward.

I really want to be Au Ra both IC and OOC.Â

My big problem is I just moved servers to Balmung and have never RP before. SO part of me does not even want to start till I do change to Au Ra, don't want to have to find a way for people to work around/deal with my race change.Â

But if and when I do start to RP. I want him to be a Astro IC and always have fits of seeing into the future "That's so Raven" style lol. I also want him to be some kind of outcast because of it. Him having to change his name (mostly because I love the name I haveÂ Tongue

), but doing his best to follow Au Ra ways if the lore is not horrible.Â
