Hello, we invite everyone to join in on the Drifters Bazaar! This is a community event meant to encourage fun RP opportunities as well as bartering for real (or I guess not real?) ingame items. There's no signing up or anything like that. Just show up to the event and sell, buy and RP however much you want.

Searching for:
Merchants, crafters, gatherers, auctioneers, anything! If you got something to sell then sell it! Or better yet, come up with some interesting RP scenarios involving your products.
Security guards
Entertainers, dancers, musicians

Also, this isn't mandatory, but if you're planning to set up a stall for the event, you're free to post your own IC ad within this thread. Thumbsup

RP EVENT AT THE DRIFTWOOD BAZAAR:

"You've heard of X-Potions...? Those are boring. Try a Xi-Potion!"

For those of you who are tired of the same old RP scene and looking to shake things up for your characters, Xifang Crimson brings you another experiment gone horribly wrong!

Basically, at the Driftwood Event at the Silver Bazaar on March 1st, Xifang will be selling these "RP potions" for 40 gil a pop (that's practically nothing).Â

IC POSTER TEXT:

"Do you lack the confidence to try for that new job promotion within your mercenary group? Too shy to even ask for a drink at the Quicksand? Does the thought of asking for directions fill you with mortal terror? Have I got the solution for you!! I'm a master alchemist and I've created a brand new potion that can inspire folks like you to get over that debilitating shyness! Never again will you fear interacting with other people. No more will quake in fear at the sight of your own shadow! Xifang's Xi-Potions will bring out a whole new you!! Great (and legal!) for your whole family! Look for them at the Silver Bazaar this coming month!"

OOC Info:

Customers who buy a Xi-Potion from Xifang during the SilverBazaar will actually be buying an RP Catalyst. When a character buys and takes a Xi-Potion 1 of 4 effects will take place:

1) The customer will become a meglomaniac. Overcome by delusions of grandeur, limitless power and overt and obvious narcissism, when the character interacts with others the effect of the Xi-potion will make them incredibly frustrating to deal with. The character may throw themselves carelessly into the face of danger because they are over-confident in their abilities. They may make unreasonable demands because they believe in their own divine right to. How this is RPed is up to you!

2) The customer will be overwhelmed with affection for the first character that they see after they drink the potion. This does not have to be romantic love (though it can be!). It can be stifling motherly love, crazily over-protective sibling love, overly intense platonic love, anything. Whatever it is, that character cannot bear to part with the object of their affection for too long and will obsess over being near them. How you RP this is up to you and the object of your affection!

3) The customer will be overwhelmed by disgust for the first character that they see after they drink the potion. They will feel physically ill being anywhere near that person and be absolutely unable, physically or mentally, to interact with them for a prolonged period of time. How you RP your disgust is up to you and the object of your disdain!

4) The potion works exactly as Xifang says it will and for a limited time the character feels brave enough to talk to anyone. Characters that find it hard to interact with others, will be able to overcome their nervousness of other people and interact (and RP!) freely with others without the normal inhibitions.

When a customer buys a Xi-potion we will meet at Rolz.org inthe Driftwood Room and you will roll 1d4. The result will be how your character behaves after taking the potion!

Because of the instability of the potion, effects can last for as short or as long as you want (that is: RP it to your heart's content). Also, because she is a very bad alchemist and used almost no theory at all in the creation of the Xi-Potion, characters with a background in alchemy will be unable to discern what the effect of each potion will be before taking it (read as: you can't say you know that it is a love potion and force someone else to take it... unless the two of you agreed to it. Then, by all means, RP it how you like).

There is a very rare chance that those who take a Xi potion will discover that their appearance has been altered in some small, or large, way a few weeks after taking it. (this is also up to you)

This is just a bump to remind everyone that this event is THIS Saturday! Feel free to come out and sell merchandise if you're a merchant or buy some neat stuff if you're not.

Also come and try one of Xi's potions and start some zany RP! They're super low cost and the RP mechanic should be a lot of fun. You can RP the personality shift for as short or as long as you want. Since the potions aren't stable and are wildly chaotic, feel free to run wild with it! It'll just be cool to meet new people to RP with!

I would like a clarification on this as well.Â As it stands 5pm PST would be 8pm EST, which is usually when all the other events have happened, so I'm curious if it was just entered wrong or not?

Well that was fun, first ever rp thingie I've done in game...granted I spent the first hour and a half just observing everyone else. But it was fun none the less, quite enjoyed it all x-x.
Then a bunch of people in swimsuits came along doing emote spams on a big rock and now it's 3:23 am and I'm exhausted! Looking foward to more events in the future now and hope the few people I did rpish around weren't offended by my lack of refinement and all that!

Really late reply but sorry about that. Been wrestling with the weird dating system this website has so I just entered the time it would start for myself, thinking it would automatically convert to everyone else's timezone. Guess I was wrong. Dazed

Anyway, it was still a great turn-out! Seen several new faces and quite a bit of interesting...and chaotic things going on (which may or may not be at the fault of Xi >_>). Managed to barter a few items off as well. Hope everyone had fun. Big Grin

Wish I had took some screenies but I always forget to do that sort of thing...

Thanks to a certain someone, Chiyo is no longer her tough, tomboy-ish self and has instead become a girly, obsessive compulsive person.Â She has also lost interest in fighting and instead wishes to focus more on cooking and 'fashion.' She now hopes to settle down and get married to a nice man one day, butÂ her personality switch has also caused her to be sexually confused, who before was openly a lesbian, so the old Chiyo may still be somewhere inside her. Â Â Â

Will Chiyo ever be back to her normal self again? Only time will tell... Tongue
