Jin'li's ears twitched as he opened his black eyes and looked up at the ceiling.  He was lying on a table, shirtless, long acupuncture needles sticking into his flesh and muscles as he spoke, his voice expressionless.

"This slave has spoken to our masters and was instructed to inform you that your request is to be granted, but for no more than four suns, at which time you are to return to Ul'dah.  Is that acceptable for your needs?"

"The need is not mine, but that of another. It shall suffice."

With that she made her preparations for light travel. She would need to secret herself into the city somehow and make for the airship, or otherwise move on to Gridania which would take even more time.

She made it known to the innkeeper that she would be leaving early but expected no refund for days already paid. In addition she left a note which was to be shown to anyone looking for her whereabouts.

Duty has compelled me to leave for Limsa Lominsa. I have been granted permission to leave Thanalan temporarily and shall be there no more than four suns, less if possible.

Coatleque stepped off the airship, once again in Ul'dah. She wore a long black robe drawn closed with a hood much too large for her head. The only attention she would garner was that of curious bystanders gawking at a mysterious stranger.

She had done her part. Four days time was more than enough to deliver a message. In Limsa, she had found the Streetrunner, "Kink", through word of mouth in one of her usual haunts. She paid more than triple the usual cost, as the message was so urgent - not because it was requested, but from her own sense of how things worked. Two hundred fifty gil.

"His life is in danger..." she reiterated to the girl.

And now her part was finished once more. Limsa Lominsa was not her jurisdiction. She only hoped the message would not arrive too late.

Once off the airship she spoke to herself in a hushed voice.
"Master... my business is concluded early. I have arrived once more in Ul'dah."

"Please, allow this one to be rude and inquire as to what your business entailed?"

"... To save a life, rather than destroy one."

She said nothing more to anyone, and headed for the bar.

Nonotano lay on his bed at the inn and kept his eyes closed. He held one arm under the back of his head and the the other above in the air, tapping his fingers one-by-one against his thumb.

tap-tap-tap-tap-repeat.

tap-tap-tap-tap-repeat.

His mind raced and he imagined a timeline that never was. A timeline where he was sharing a dinner with his mother and father, and in this timeline they loved him as their sweet child.

But that timeline was false. A lie he had created to....

To what...?

His face began to twist into a grimace as a growl formed deep in his throat as he tried to remain calm and focus.

But it was too late. Ruru had once again spoiled his fable, as he always did. Now that the false life was spoiled, he focused on the one thing that had fueled him for so long anymore: his hate.

His mouth verbalized each one as they appeared his mind.

"Ruru. His lalafell lover. The green haired miqo'te. Sergeant Crofte. The ragged homeless looking miqo'te."

His teeth ground together. He began again, as though it were a mantra.

"Ruru. His lalafell lover. The green-haired miqo'te....."

And as he said the words, he savored the hatred he felt for his brother and those around him.
