Hello from Vylbrand!
Sorry I took so long writing mum, it's a very nice place here. I didn't expect much to fit in because I'm not really a seafaring person but so far I've found my place within the Marauders' Guild. It's been three months since I've joined the guild and I'm starting to learn a lot more than I thought I would. Maybe the Arcanists have a lot of smarts but that doesn't mean there's nothing to learn swinging an axe!
Oh, speaking of that... you can finally feel proud! I've gotten my leave to join other guilds from the Axemaster, and I've signed up for classes at the Arcanists' guild! So far, it's really hard. Even the basic teachings that the wandering bard gave us were nowhere close to the level of knowledge necessary to become an Arcanist. I still have a long way to go before I can start explaining the various mystical theorems and even further before I can do any competent accounting!
Other than that, I've met some nice people here, and I'm starting to think about traveling inland onto the actual continent. Maybe I'll write my next letter from Ul'dah? In any case, I have a lot of studying, practicing and work as well. I've started hiring myself out to the local farmers in La Noscea because they need all the help they can get, but most of the work is for the pirates who give up piracy and need to start growing their own food so there's not much for me out there. Maybe I should seek out an apprenticeship at the forge? What do you think, mother?
In any case, I'll keep writing to you as soon as more exciting things happen! Hopefully soon!
Your son,
Kellach.
