This type of scene is what comes to mind whenever I hear anyone say or read about how they can't seem to find roleplay, or start roleplaying, or make roleplaying connections.
My brain jumps to, "do you randomly approach people with bad openers that make you sound like an adolescent male with a distinct lack of good pick-up lines?"
I do that intentionally at times, and it works. Mostly because I know I can get away with it and carry the prize home no matter what I say.
Its fun at times, RPing with others when they get humored at the start and wonder how you will go about it.
