You're asking for DoW and DoM restrictions? That causes problems with the way things are itemized. DoW gear would need to include ALL of the martial classes (can't leave out bard!) so they'd need to weigh str/dex/vit. This would make the equipment inferior to specialized versions, blah blah blah etc.
We'll likely be getting new craftables in the future to cover cavalry/et al to make those dyeable. Odds are that we're never going to see unrestricted gear that isn't just clothes (like the tux/dresses).
Personally, I'd rather have new models than repaints. Repaints can get added later, and I'd rather have more variety now.
