UPDATE:
It's been some time that this has been dead, in large part because I went away. I went through some major personal issues, and sorta disappeared for a while, stopped playing for a solid chunk of time. As for how this translated ICly, there's no great stretch of imagination required: Anstarra herself disappeared, along with her principle retainer, Allistair, who was helping make her contacts.
Eventually, some moons later, Anstarra returned. A changed woman in some ways, mostly internal, but the face she shows the world hasn't really altered. That said, she hasn't been in a hurry to get back in the public eye; she's put herself more fully into her job with the Harbingers of the Dawn, along with some side-projects, including helping the ever-dubious Verad Bellveil in a caper, and helping several of her fellows, including Verad, Harbingers, and huntresses from the Morbolvine Clan keep desperate Ala Mhigan refugees from starting a war in the Shroud.
There is much on her plate, but she has nonetheless instructed Allistair (who has returned as well, in all his efficacious and semi-pompous Elezen glory) to discreetly cast out her nets and see if any of her old contacts, or new ones, get in touch. Verad's involvement (and enmity) with dangerous and corrupt elements of Ul'dah society has convinced her that she may yet be of greater help to him. It wouldn't do, after all, for her favorite purveyor of all things dubious (including backgrounds) to suffer more permanent harm than he already has...
