Starting gear is just like going around in your race's version of jeans and a t-shirt. Nothing wrong with it, yes it's technically a common outfit, but I'd honestly have more of a problem with someone RPing combat while in pajamas if the combat wasn't a spur of the moment attack while they slept.Â
It really boils down to a matter of preference. Some simply don't wear it because it might give the impression that their character is new and weak. Others will mix pieces of starting gear with other things; I was going to use some of it as part of a costume for All Saint's Wake.
