Elezen for life, naturally. As for jobs, I like FFXIV's system in that I can change jobs whenever I want, and I have almost all of them capped at this point - but I only use a few of them IC. I play Yvelont as a former knight of Ishgard turned ranger of the wild. This means he is quite adept at most forms of melee weaponry, especially the polearm, one and two-handed swords, mace/morningstar (one day! maybe!) and the axe, in that order. I generally keep to one actual JOB RP-wise, and for Yvelont, that is Dragoon.
Yvelont is a capable enough archer, and will often use one in his patrols of the Twelveswood or for hunting game elsewhere, but he knows his talents are best suited to melee combat.
As for the decidedly NOT IC jobs: He has absolutely no skill with thaumaturgy, conjury, ninjutsu, or arcanima. He lacks the subtlety required to be a stealthy dagger-wielding rogue, and while he could probably hold his own unarmed in a bar-fight, a fist-fight with a properly trained pugilist would end with Yvelont reduced to a breathless mound of defeated flesh.
