A lot of us do in fact congregate near the RP hubs because well... they're just that. The hubs. Some of us also prefer the areas etc.
Feel free to ask more questions. I'm sure you were just fine with your RP. If not, most people are kind about giving you a slight nudge. If they aren't kind, well they're not the type you want to RP with anyway!
Edit: If you're on PC, you can Ctrl+F, right click your name, and hit "Edit Search Info" There's a character limit for the text box but you should be fine.
