You have been able to take the middle road, avoiding extremes and maintaining a great sense of calm in your life. You have learned to keep calm in situations of great stress or anxiety, and you give the impression of being a swan, paddling madly underneath the water but appearing so graceful and elegant on the surface. You do not let things get to you, and you have found a place of peace where you can put things into perspective when things get hectic. Your respect for balance and tranquility is what will help you to achieve and experience fulfillment in your life. Your temperament will be well balanced and you demonstrate good management and balance in your outlook on life.
- Name: Chiane N'Ardente
- World: Balmung
- Character main class/job/role (Optional): Black Mage
- Cards (recommended): Temperance/Hermit
- Reason for Card choice (recommended):
Temperance-Â
The Temperance card reflects that you have a clear, long-term vision of what you want to achieve. You are not rushing things along; rather you are taking your time to ensure that you do the best job you can. This card also reflects a higher learning in what you are doing and demonstrates that you are learning a great deal on your journey. You are at peace with what you are doing and it is all coming together very well. Your inner voice is guiding you gently to the right outcome and you are patiently listening and following. You have a very balanced perspective on the situation at this time and you are in a very good position to make the right choices.
In relation to others, Temperance represents adaptation, coordination, and tempering external influences. You are able to work in harmony with others and there is a heightened level of co-operation in your activities with others. You are able to combine forces and join with others in order to bring it all together. There is a beautiful synergy at work that leverages the right mix of talents, experiences, abilities and skills.
Temperance asks you to be patient so that you can act with timing and precision. Patience and moderation will result in good management of all things. Do not feel that you need to rush, just let the situation evolve at its natural pace.
Temperance can also reflect a period of self-evaluation in order to re-examine your life priorities. You are now seeking a much greater balance between your inner and outer selves, searching for a higher meaning and purpose in life. Throughout this transition, you may also experience a clash between the old and the new you, sometimes feeling confused about which direction you ought to take and what is really important to you. You will evaluate seclusion, detachment and retreats as methods for accomplishing great things. You will avoid pain, conflict and distractions and lessen your stress and anxiety. Looking inward will re-charge you. There is nothing to fear, it is part of the process and without it change could not occur." --- BiddyTarot
- * Chiane began as a Monk, but upon opening her Chakra, she gained realization and a connection with the Aether within her. This made her curious.. but it took a serious trauma in her life to make her dive headfirst into Thaumataugry as a way to use the fury and dark power that swirled within her. It did not take long, however, for her to return to her early teachings of Balance... and sought to temper her darkness with that of conjury. Such is how she grew in power- training both White and Black simultaneously to maintain the Balance within her. In the process, she has revisited the early trauma and, though it still weighed on her, and though changed by it, did not let it control her life and fate as much as it had, and she no longer dwelt in the Darkness as much as she had. Recently, the source of the trauma has returned to her life, and she is facing it in a much more focused and restrained way.The study of magic has also opened up an 'equal but opposite' side of her- that of a scholar, another balance to her martial prowess. ((I have Monk, and all three Magic classes to 50, and yes, I really did level both BLM and WHM simultaneously.... lol))
The Hermit ... symbolize achievement, growth, and accomplishment. The Hermit has attained his spiritual pinnacle and is ready to share his knowledge with others. He is also continuing the path he has chosen, committed to his goal of ultimate awareness... ability to use his isolation and the knowledge he has gained as a tool upon his path to reach even higher levels of awareness. ...His secrets are not for everyone, only for those earnestly seeking them and those willing to climb the heights to wisdom.
- Hermit-
...Suggests that you are in a phase of introspection where you are drawing your attention and focus inward and looking for answers within. You have a strong need to understand, not just at the surface level but to really know why life is the way it is. The Hermit reflects that your consciousness has moved inward and you now realize that the truth and understanding you seek is within yourself and not in the distractions of the outside world.
...Reflects that you are engaging in a period of soul searching - seek the truth at all costs. You desire a new direction in life, recently begun a journey of self-discovery and contemplation. ... Indicates a time when you seek solitude and isolation from others.
... May begin to re-evaluate your personal goals and change your overall direction. You will look at your life with a deeper, more spiritual understanding and will begin to change some of your priorities as a result. There is a certain level of spiritual attainment that is associated with the Hermit.
Be content with being alone or associate only with those on your level. Do not waste time and energy on those not ready or not worthy.
... Represents the desire to focus on the inner world.
The Hermit has learned to help others with love and compassionate detachment...

* Similar to above, with the Temperance, but also reflecting Chiane's Duskwight nature, and her desire to 'return to herself' in terms of cultural identity, self-actualization, self-reflection, and isolation- yet still reaching out to others. Through her studies, she has become a very powerful mage, and attempts to share her learning by teaching at the Phoenix Rose and working with recovering slaves... many of which do NOT have her level of self-assurance and direction. She holds truth and honor to be above all things, but also dwells in the shadow areas of life- again balancing out her Dark with her Light.
