Was it an aside sort of thing, happening only when the two of us were RPing it? I'd freeze frame the whole damn thing and see where to pick up when they returned. Should we pretend it was always happening "now" and no time had passed? Should we acknowledge the drop and come back to it with time having gone by? RL happens. I'm totally on board with meta-gaming the ever-living fuck out of my stories to make sure they're allowed to happen without extra-dimensional bullshit ruining them.
