New to Balmung- don't know where to start RPing!

Just joined Balmung and looking to join an RP linkshell or Free Company that is pretty active. It gets pretty boring for me to play alone with no one to talk to. I'm new to RPing on FFXIV however I'm pretty experienced on Gaia (semi-lit. to adv.-literate) so if someone could explain to me the dynamics of how it works here that would be great! nwn  I'm also very new to this website so I'm not sure how to create my character profile/where to put it, heh.  Thank you!
