Were your DPS always high enough to kill green before switch or were you always dealing with a "2nd" green?
Thank you. :>
We actually didn't kill green first to alleviate this entirely. We had the DPS to burn the first set of golems, but we found ourselves without CDs for the second set and it'd cause the green to run rampant. So, we devised an entirely different strat that worked perfectly for us.
We actually focused blue down first, which was tanked and fed by our Bard, since Bard burst DPS is the highest in the game. The other two tanks held red and green respectively. This eliminated one key factor, that being the green swapping to the non-tank feeder and obliterating him instantly.
Now, some times we would burn the blue quickly enough and it'd die before the swap. Cool, one golem down. Some times we didn't, and we'd have a 50% chance of the green swapping to the blue we were fighting. The good thing about this is our DPS was always consistent. If the golem wasn't dead before the swap, it was at about 5%, and died right after the swap had gone out and the golems hadn't regained control of themselves yet.
So, we'd either kill the blue, or instantly kill the green/red.
If the blue swapped with the red, red would die, and the green would swap onto the other tank. If green didn't swap to blue, we'd kill green next, and finish off blue last. Otherwise we'd finish off blue and kill red last.
Little bit more healing intensive since the green stays alive for at least one rotation, but it 100% removes the RNG of green swapping to the non-tank and obliterating them and anyone around them. It also lets the tank be a little more choosey with how they feed the green, as feeding it two red will make for a nasty obliterate.
