My current FC leader has taken to crafting every single lowbie in the guild armor at every ten level interval, at no cost to us. If we want to donate ingredients or materials we can, but he and the rest ask for nothing in return and he's even willing to craft us all i70 gear once we hit the level cap as well. 
I've never been a part of any group that was so generous and caring towards it's lower members, and it's really changed my leveling plans a little as my next class to level will be a gatherer so I can help out when the next round of newbies comes in.
