I'll probably keep an eye on the game. But, I need to see some more gameplay elements before I really start thinking about paying. RP-wise (Though I'm not in there, either yet), I'm sure it's fantastic - but it's a game, too. I think The Old Republic will have to tide me over for a month or two before I take a check on the ol' FFXIV again. The stigma is definitely there, no matter what game you go into and ask random people in.
