Chachan s a toss-up between Earth and Fire, I think.
Both are heavily used in his trade - smithing. The ores he smelts and then shapes into weapons and armor and such come from the earth, but are made malleable through application of fire.
He's very passionate about his beliefs and his dreams, which also implies fire (though the whimsical nature of his dreams can be very Wind), but he's also resolute and sometimes-stubborn - which is more of an earthy trait. His overall resilience and reliability is very earthy too, though the friendliness and warmth behind that reliability could be fire-ish.
So, ultimately, I think he's more Earth than Fire... or I can just go with the Quasi-Elements, call him "Magma" and move on.
