
Personally... as I see it, the Dark Knights developed their techniques as a method to protect those that could not protect themselves. A sort of drive maybe, to do what was needed not what was desired by what controlled Ishgard.Â
A saying akin to 'In order to keep those who deserve to be in the light, I accept walking in the darkness, so that I can protect them'
Aside from that, that's all I have on the class.
My Au Ra will be a DRK, mainly for the greatsword, as for how the abilities come/came to him [waiting a bit more to see how they explain the use of Darkness on DRK as a whole] to develop what brought those along. However, I do fully intend on having my character possibly joining them [his traveling companion permitting] or more than likely just sticking to my own ideas.
