I hope neither of these lines refers to me. I never lost my temper, nor did I ever make any outright demands.
If this is the case, then yes. There's nothing wrong with asking someone to give something a chance. The concern spawns from one's refusal to accept the word "No". No means No.
What a colossal waste of time and energy.
