"Do you now?" Mayu chuckled quietly and glanced over at Evey. She shrugged lightly and then proceeded to hop off her chocobo. With trepidation she began to move forward towards the dark lump in the road, but it didn't seem to move.Â
She moved closer to the large mass and noticed it was a dragon, albeit one of the smaller varieties that frequented the area. Only they didn't seem to like to linger on the roads, so she had no idea what it was doing here. They were used to the snow, after all. The dragon barely noticed her and made no movement towards her. It felt like a cheap shot, killing it when it didn't seem to want to pick a fight, but she didn't see what other choice she had.
She removed her lance from her back and assumed an offensive stance, readying a blow. As if finally sensing the danger, the dragon unfurled itself and went on the defensive.
