
One of my biggest pet peeves in roleplay is the usage of would. Roleplay in game is present tense because the action is happening now, not later.  The argument I most often receive is that it's passively "asking permission" to perform an action, leaving room for your RP partner(s) to react.  You can do the same thing in present tense, though, you may have to be more descriptive in an effort to create visual or tonal cues for others to react to (like we do in real life.)
