You can still be a shinobi/ninja/rogue without the soulstone, look at Yugiri and all her followers.Â
This is just me being nitpicky, of course, and I might be wrong, as I haven't done the ninja questline, but I do think this applies to EVERY soul stone.Â
With respect (and I really don't mean this to be condescending) but that's misinformation. While it's true that soul stones are rare, "one in the world" is completely false. Both the Summoner and Dark Knight storylines show that there's certainly more than one of each. (Tristan is collecting them, and Frey and Sidurgu both hold them in the Dark Knight storyline.)
Aure is correct. Lore has stated that there are multiple soulstones for certain classes. Paladin hands them out nearly like candy. DRK it is -vital- to have multiple soulstones to different characters. AST it has shown to have multiple as has MCH.
