There's a whole gamut of RPers. There are some that do exactly what you don't like, and there are others who just RP normal characters. There are good and bad in all games. I think, for the most part, the XIV community has a good smattering of both. Don't feel shy about asking us specific questions. And please, peruse the wikis.
