Looking at the old scripts and storyboards for Versus 13 and its two planned sequels, it makes me a bit sad. Cramming two games into one never does good things for the story (though it could have been worse with 3, the beginning of the series being re-purposed into Kingsglaive). There were a lot of characters from the earlier trailers that I was looking forward to seeing more of, only to find that they were barely in the game at all.
It's still a fun game though, despite being an unfinished one. That's just the norm these days, sadly. God forbid you did it before every console had an internet connection. Still, the characters were endearing and I enjoyed the combat system. Fishing though. My god. I could do that shit for hours. Even Justice Monsters 5... It's like Final Fantasy X all over again. When the minigame can stand to be more compelling than the actual game itself.
Now the question is: Will I live long enough to see Final Fantasy 16?
