Hello and welcome to the RPC and eventually Balmung! I don't think you would have any issues playing a serious lalafell in RP. I think all of the races have some stigma attached to them, but ultimately it is up to you to decide how you want to portray that character.
Is there any particular reason you want to finish leveling on your previous server? Balmung has a very active PvE scene as well as RP. So you may just want to transfer when you have your character set up. You could look at things like RP Levelers linkshell where you can hopefully knock out both of your goals!
