I don't intend to dissuade you, but you should at least be aware before proceeding with such a character concept that other characters (my own included) may think that your character is clinically insane if he keeps going around and telling everyone else about how he's from another world. 
That in itself could lead to interesting RP situations, of course, so if you're cool with that, then go for it.
