I've found that most people, if playing a character whose age doesn't quite line up with their appearance, will put that detail in their search info. Otherwise, they usually work in into conversation: "My husband and I own a silversmith shop; our son apprentices there." or "I'm trainin' to be a gladiator! Or would if my mom ever let me out of her sight..."
