It is a valid and legitimate conversation to have. I still find it irritating that the folks with high level characters, multiple characters and tons of mmorpg experience are trying to dictate to new players where and how they play. It's arrogant.
And my arrogant comment is not directed at Averis who pointed out she didn't play much. It is a general statement about some people who think the roleplay community should only be on Balmung.
To quote Kylin, on his first post in this topic...

While it pains many of us that we may not get to RP or interact personally with these individuals, we will continue to support them in their wishes if interest in this remains. As such, should we still hear nothing from SquareEnix by July 1st, we will hold a public poll on the RPC to allow non-Legacy RPers to select a secondary RP server.
I don't know what exactly it is that you are saying you want at this stage. We're already in support of and giving you this option. It was stated in the very first post in this now 150 post thread. It's now a header on every page of the RPC. You are getting your non-legacy option. We agree it is a valid and legitimate conversation, and we've had the conversation weeks ago and we agreed to make an official non-legacy server. Many would prefer to keep things on Balmung since it's always been on Balmung, but that's been our preference. Even so, we're opening up more options, and like I said, there are already other groups on other servers (Hyperion).
So I'm not sure what else it is that you want. It seems we're already giving it to you.
My first post on this website was on page 8 of this thread where several members of your own website were arguing about you so generously "giving" us the option.
You singling me about in such a condescending manner speaks volumes about the level of character around these parts.
