Izagi became the apprentice to a powerful Evoker named Nicola Vayne at a young age. His intelligence and inherent abilities helped him become quite powerful by the time he rounded his first decade of life. As he got older, he began to be infatuated with aether crystals and his ability to manipulate power and energy between them. It wasn't long before he even surpassed his mentor. This greatly pleased his mentor, as the boy's abilities would be of great use to him in order to correct the mistakes of his predecessors. Izagi and his mentor joined Dyne's group under the arrangement that they would help eachother in their endeavors to defend Eorzea against it's many threats.Â
 Years later, when his mentor mysteriously disappeared, Izagi took on his own apprentice..a young Miqo'te by the name on L'remy Tia. Remy shared Izagi's ability of aether manipulation, and he did his best to teach him how to control and master this ability. Izagi spent much of his time researching and experimenting, especially attempting to further his aether manipulation ability to move living matter from place to place using small animals and aether crystals in as a conduit in separated cages on opposite ends of the room. In all his experimenting, he was never quite successful, but it never halted his resolve to keep trying.Â
 After Remy's twin brother was kidnapped by voidsent, Remy left to become stronger and rescue his brother. In this endeavor, he became mixed up in a group of dark mages. Remy got himself into a deadly situation when the group decided to take a village hostage in Mor Dhona, and killing many of the villagers to summon a powerful voidsent. Remy fought against them to try to save the villagers from them, and Izagi showed up in time to help him as he'd been tracking them for some time. They fought and defeated many of the mages, until the demon they summoned used her power to take hold of Izagi's aether within his body and used it against him when he was distracted protecting Remy. As his body began to fail him, he used all the power he had left to slowly seal the portal they opened, closing her in. But before it finally closed, she used his own aether to shred him apart right in front of Remy.Â
 As Izagi died, he finished sealing the demon away, the remnants of his aether washing over Remy, who screamed in anguish and blacked out, awaking some time later surrounded by dead bodies. He picked up Izagi's dropped tome and returned home to their group, and took up residence in his late mentor's lab, where he noticed the rats were gone from their cage..finding them in another at the other end of the lab...
