Greetings. As the title says, I’m an experienced roleplayer, new to Final Fantasy 14. Always loved the art, but other games consumed my online time. Been feeling the need to try something new, so here I am. Played a couple weeks on a trial, decided it was fun enough to buy the game and see if I still want to play when the month is up.
Probably the biggest reason I may not continue is the lack of chat bubbles. Wow, does that make it hard to tell who is talking and where it's coming from!
I made characters on a bunch of servers, found Mateus had the largest RP population, so have made that my home. Now that I’m fairly comfortable with the mechanics of FF14, tis time to reach out and get some roleplay going.

MMORPG background:
Started playing MMORPGs way back with Ultima Online. I’ve since spent time in Lineage 2, EverQuest 2, Guild Wars 2 (still play, and help run a tea shop there), Blade & Soul (no RP to be found there, sadly)
RP experience:
Been playing since the D&D Basic Set, and have since played many pen & paper RPGs before (and after) the coming of MMOs. Yeah, I’m old enough to be a parent to many of you. =P
Character ideas/info:
Of the many characters I tired, I latched onto a pair of Miqo’te. I tried to resist, I really did! But once I made them, and based their looks on my real life cats, there was no going back. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy):
While I do enjoy heavy RP, real life limits my time so light RP is a more realistic goal. Silly, mature, I'm good for just about anything.
Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.)
Oh, I'm pretty much an open book. Best I not get started or this post will get way too long.
Anyway. . . or, I guess, I should say Anyroad. . . hoping to find some people to RP with. A nice Link Shard or two and Free Company who don't mind someone with limited play time would be nice too.
