It all really depends on the people you play with. Some people are vehemently against it, while others don't really mind. Shop around for your linkshell/FC, make sure you find a group of people who accept your play style, and when you go out and RP with other people, just keep in mind that other people may not like it. *shrug* RP however you feel most comfortable with!
