So, I've been lurking around here for a bit. Now that I finally got the game, I figured I oughta sign up and introduce myself, so here we are!
MMORPG Background
I played WoW for a few months. I never really took it very seriously, just couldn't get into it enough to grind or what have you. However, it was during my time in WoW I started to dabble in roleplaying. Since then, I've tried several MMOs, but FFXIV is the first I was actually excited to play. Which is unusual, because the only other FF game I played was Crystal Chronicles. Anyway, I'm basically a total newb, don't really know the ins-and-outs of MMOs.
RP Experience
As I mentioned previously, I started to dabble in RP on WoW. I had a hard time getting into the community because, well... I'm incredibly shy. I also didn't really have a grasp on the lore, and just in general didn't know what I was doing. I haven't really roleplayed since then, but I've learned a bit more about it, and I like to think my writing has improved at least a bit. Again, total newb.
Character Ideas/Info
I have a handful of characters in mind right now, most of whom still need a bit more fleshing out. My only really developed character is Kukulupo Yuyulupo. I'm not sure how much info I want to share, might take the fun out of talking to him yourself. Here's a synopsis though!
I'll probably scatter future characters across both Gilgamesh and Balmung, but for now it's just Balmung.
How did you learn about the coalition?
I... Don't rightly remember. My memory is awful. Google? Maybe a link on the official forums? Probably one of those two.
What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?
I think medium to heavy, but there will be times where I just don't feel up to it. I hope that's not problematic, but if I can only be on for half an hour on a work night, I don't want to get caught up in a scene and suddenly have to leave.
Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc)
Well, as mentioned previously, I'm really shy. I'm 22, work overnight four nights a week, and maintain a nocturnal schedule on my nights off. I live in Kansas, but my schedule probably lines up better with European or Australian players. Or maybe not, I'm terrible with timezones, and time in general. I basically just play video games in my spare time, though I'd like to get better at writing and drawing! That's about it.
Y'all seem like nice people for the most part. Hopefully, this means I won't panic as much before every post. Well, maybe after a few months.
