It's not really a point of which fate it is. Any of them get mobbed with players because they camp areas waiting for them to spawn and then rush in. They are hardly ever up long enough to really be enjoyed.
And i see this has turned into the same regurgitated nonsense about why FFXIII was bad. "Too linear" ALL the games are linear. FF has never been very open apart from in MMO form and even then it's not really open either. The Japanese don't make games with much in the way of exploration instead going for tight storylines. There is very little difference between XIII and VII or VIII apart from the fact many people played them when they were young and it has the nostalgia factor.
