This is the bottom line for many complaints about this game that people just don't get. There are cultural differences we have to learn to live with.
That's how I see it as well. There's some stuff that I'd love to see changed, though I'd rather not see the game edited significantly just to appeal to western audiences. More players just need to learn to accept 'no' as a valid answer, or that 'maybe' doesn't necessarily mean 'yes'.
