Kieaira had been busy repacking the cart, grunting softly .. she was unaware just how heavy some of the boxes were, but still she managed to get them all back into place, with only minimal bruising. When she had finished she raised her hand to wipe the sweat from her forehead, and smacked her lips together. Thirsty... One of the crates had been marked water ... would she get in trouble for opening it? She shook her head, she would risk it ... work it off if she couldn't pay for it. She cracked open the box just as Lorielle returned with Clavier, and Tobias as well.
A look of concern crossed her features, but she knew there was not much she could do.. "Water?" She asked, pulling a few vials of water from the box, holding them out if anyone wanted some, and taking one for herself. She popped the cork and raised the glass vial to her lips, closing her eyes as the liquid poured down her throat. She drained about half the bottle before pulling her head away in disgust. "Ugh ... it's warm.." She murmured, re-corking the bottle and slipping it into her pocket. Better than nothing...
Moving away from the back of the cart so Lorielle could tend to the others, she noticed green specs of something in the sand. Upon closer inspection the specs appeared to be bits of leaf... a very particular leaf ... The gyshal greens! She reached to her back pocket, they were in fact gone ... and there hidden by the cart stood one of the chocobos happily munching away. It gave a soft "kweh" as Kieaira slowly approached, hand out stretched, trying to show she was friendly.
Another "kweh" and the bird moved its' head, pushing it against Kieaira's hand, causing a small smile to form upon the young Miqo'te's lips. "Seems like she likes you." A smooth voice came from behind, startling the young girl as she quickly whipped around, the chocobo merely going back to its' munching.
"O-Oh!!" Redness touched her cheeks as she looked up into the sparkling blue eyes of the driver, it would seem his anger had subsided on his walk and he had found the chocobo as well, without anyone even noticing their return. "Sorry." She forced a nervous smile, bringing her hands together in front of her as she played with her fingers, unsure of what to say to the man, especially after his scene with Tobias earlier.
"You've nothing to be sorry for, lass." He smiled, placing a gentle hand upon her shoulder. "No need to be shy ... looks like our arrival in Gridania is going to be delayed, so may as well feel comfortable in your fellow travelers presence." Kieaira looked up at him and nodded, the blush still prominent on her face.
"W-wait... delayed?!" Her voice perked up a bit, as the driver turned around heading towards the back of the cart to address the others as well. "The water is tainted with the toads toxins ... we need to wait at least a day for it to disperse, we'll be setting up camp here."
Kieaira's ears wilted and she looked around. "H-Here?! With all the animals out there..." She whimpered softly.
"Aye, or you can walk back to Black Brush and catch the next cart to Gridania in a week, unless you can bribe someone else to take you, but they might be thieves, or ruffians." He smirked, winking at Kieaira, whose eyes had gone wide, and she looked around nervously. "Besides, these two are probably going to need some rest... and it is well past lunch time now." He raised a hand to block the light from his eyes as he looked up at the position of the sun. "Almost time for dinner..."
The driver looked back at the group, a serious expression on his face. "You all need to decide what you want to do, so I can give out tasks... we need to make a fire and find some shelter before nightfall."
