RP behind breakDays later, at the quicksand, K'ile and the others had set a time to meet at the entrance to Ul'dah. But nobody met K'ile there! He quickly tracked K'luha to the Quicksand's inn, and sent the innkeep to her room to let her know that he was looking for her.
K'luha Haaz slowly made her way down the stairs and through the door. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy, her ears flattened to her head and her tail almost completely limp. She could barely raise her head to look at K'ile as she stepped forward to greet him. "S-sorry K'ile. T-things um... h-happened and I forgot..." she coughed, her voice hoarse from crying.
K'ile Twinflame had been watching the crowded room around him with an amused and somewhat overwhelmed expression, but on sight of K'luha, his ears droop and his demeanor turns towards concern. "Hey, it's... What happened? Are you okay?" He trots over to her quickly.
K'luha Haaz sniffled lightly and quickly brushed her arm against her face to mop up what tears started to leak again. "Y-yeah... f-fine. I-i'm fine. O-of course I am... h-how was your trip?" she stammered, doing her best to hold herself together.
K'ile Twinflame shaes his head, "Uhm. It was okay." He puts his hands on either shoulder, "You don't look fine. Where's K'ailia?"
K'luha Haaz seemed to pale a little at the mention of K'ailia. The mother seemed to shake beneath K'ile's hands suddenly and what little facade she had put together collasped almost instantly. K'luha broke into a loud hystericaly sob, dropping to her kneels and covering her face.
K'ile Twinflame cringes very slightly, and tries to catch K'luha as if the woman is collapsing, "Ah, hey! Hey, it..." A bit undure what to do with himself for a moment, he eventually tries to pull K'luha into his best approximation of a comforting hug. "What happened? Is she okay? Is she hurt?"
K'luha Haaz could do nothing more than weakly return K'ile's hug and cry loudly into his shoulder. Her attempts at communicating what had happened were all but loud unintelligible sobs that ended with the word K'ailia.
K'ile Twinflame just awkwardly pats K'luha's back. "Hey, you're... Uhm. You're okay. Don't try and say it all at once. Take your time."
K'luha Haaz cried for a time more, not realizing that her loud crying was attracting any attention. She was trying to tell K'ile, trying so hard to tell him what happened. But all she was able to manage out in the end was, "K-k'ailia's g-going to a-abandon us!" She sputtered it out loudly before devolving back into hysterical sobs.
K'ile Twinflame pats K'luha's back a few more times and then says, "Oh," and delivers a quick, reassuring squeeze. "Now, pull yourself together a bit. It's okay to cry but let's go find someplace for you sit down, okay?"
K'luha Haaz realized that he was right. She couldn't go on sobbing like this in the middle of the Quicksand. It was embarrassing for the rest of the tribe. K'luha weakly nodded and quieted herself, standing and waiting for K'ile to lead her to a table.
K'ile Twinflame looks around and frowns. He doesn't actually know how places like this work. Can they just sit in chairs or does that cost gil? Everything costs gil in Ul'dah, right? "Uhm. There's a place to sit down, right? I saw some steps outside."
K'luha Haaz nods to you.
K'ile Twinflame just mutters, "Okay, right," and tries to get out of there.
K'ile Twinflame gestures to the steps, "Here we go. Nice and sunny, just like home!"
K'luha Haaz breaks out into a small tyrade of sobs at the mention of home. Still, she realizes it's imperative to get herself together and managed to reign herself in to simply sniffles and chokes with a small river of tears down her face.
K'ile Twinflame urges K'luha to sit, "Come on, let's take a few minutes and rest. Get your tears out before you try and get your words out, yeah?"
K'luha Haaz nods to you.
K'luha Haaz sat down and waited for K'ile to sit, slowly trying to pull herself together enough to tell him precisely what had happened.
K'ile Twinflame moves over next to and slightly behind K'uha, dropping into a crouch next to her and throwing an arm over her shoulder to pull her close. "Take your time. I've got nowhere to be. I think."
K'luha Haaz leaned lightly againstly K'ile as he pulled her close, still sniffling and weeping over K'ailia. It took a minute or two, but eventually she inhaled deeply and glanced to K'ile. "K'ailia came to me the other day and said if the tribe chose to remain where we were in the desert, that she would desert us. I-i... I was angry. So angry. I asked her how she could even say such a thing. W-we argued and she insisted she would leave us for good if we remained. S-so... I-i told her i-if she l-left.."
K'luha Haaz: T-that I would no longer be her mother. A-and she s-said that was o-oky with her... K-k'ile s-she's really going to l-leave us...
K'luha Haaz weeps in sorrow before you.
K'ile Twinflame rubs K'luha's arm, "Ah, that's not so bad. You just got in a fight is all. Happens all the time with kids right around the age they first pass their trial!"
K'luha Haaz: I told her I wouldn't be her mother K'ile! And she was okay with that! She's practically already left us!
K'ile Twinflame: Now, it's not the end of the world. We can have a talk with her once everyone's had the chance to calm down. I'm sure she only said it because she was mad. Just like, you're still her mother, right?
K'luha Haaz turned her head from K'ile and pulled her knees to her face. "Y-you don't understand... she would rather be with the outsiders than her own family. I-i... I-i've already lost her.."
K'ile Twinflame looks ahead, thinking. "Well. If she did decide to leave..." He looks back to K'luha, "You'd still be her mom. If she did. Not saying she's going to."
K'luha Haaz looked to K'ile strangely, sniffling still. "How? I told her I wasn't any more... You can't just... take something like that back."
K'ile Twinflame: Sure you can. Even if you couldn't, being her mom's not something you can quit.
K'ailia Yohko pauses and turns right around to walk the other way.
K'luha Haaz: N-no but I...
K'luha Haaz cried loudly again, bringing her hands to her face. "How could I ever look at her again?"
K'ile Twinflame shrugs. "Blood. No matter how far she goes or how mad she gets, she's still your daughter. Not like leaving the tribe's not a big deal, but family's in the blood."
K'luha Haaz stood sharply and glowered down at K'ile. "Not a big deal? How is abandoing your family not a big deal? She is leaving forever K'ile! Leaving the tribe means leaving the family! When you leave, you loose your family!" she yelled down at him loudly.
K'ile Twinflame lets his hand drop to his side, watching K'luha talk down to him. "You aren't the only person that's had family walk off on them. You think I don't get it?"
K'luha Haaz: I think... I think...
K'luha Haaz frowned, her ears flattening out again and sitting down. "I don't know what to think..."
K'ile Twinflame looks away from K'luha and says, "It's hard to feel and think at the same time."
K'luha Haaz sniffled and rubbed her puffy eyes a bit more, tears finally starting to dry. "I... I suppose you're right..." she mumbled. A sudden memory crossed her mind, something she had said to Ventus. "Y-you're right though... I... I cannot simply no longer be her mother... but I cannot accept her leaving the tribe either..."
K'luha Haaz: What would you say to her? I do not even know where in Ul'dah she is.. but I know someone who does I suppose.
K'ile Twinflame: I'm pretty good at finding people. I don't know if she'd be open to talking to me, but I think I could scrounge up a thing or two to say to her.
K'luha Haaz sniffled again and nodded. "I... yes... thank you K'ile. I don't know what you would say but... something is better than nothing."
K'ile Twinflame forces a smile, "I'll work something out. No promises." He leans over and playfully knocks his shoulder against K'luha. "Do you wanna beat me up?"
K'luha Haaz smiled weakly back at him and puched his chest half-heartedly. "I'd rather beat up K'ailia at this point... or that Ventus man. He's self-righteous and infuriating."
K'ile Twinflame: I guess that solo meeting of yours didn't go so well. I'm impressed you followed my advice and held yourself back from killing him.
K'luha Haaz smirked faintly and rubbed her knees. "I threatened him with death, but that's all."
K'ile Twinflame: We'll team up one of these days. As angry as you and I can get, he wouldn't stand a chance.
K'luha Haaz sniffled and gave a weak laugh. "No, I don't think he stands one anyway. I don't think he would fight back. He's too... I don't know the word but he would just let us beat him up I think."
K'ile Twinflame huffs. "Wuss. Typical." After a sigh, "How're you doing? I'm not going anywhere until I know you're okay."
K'luha Haaz: I'm... you know. A hot mess but, otherwise I'll be okay now... thanks to you. So, thank  you.
K'ile Twinflame shrugs, "I can hang out. K'haali seemed to know a lot more about this place than I did. Think she's prolly in the markets or something."
K'luha Haaz looked to the floor and sighed heavily. "I...it would be best if I could make up with K'ailia... especially if we are entertaining the idea of taking aid from the Ventus man."
K'ile Twinflame: Don't bother thinking about that right now. I'd still like to go by and judge him myself, but it's not something to stress over in this situation.
K'luha Haaz nodded faintly and glanced up towards the night sky. At least that looked the same in Ul'dah. "You're right about too many things K'ile. Have you ever been wrong even once?"
K'ile Twinflame chuckles, "Now you're making fun of me."
K'luha Haaz smiled back at K'ile and nudged his side. "Of course I am. What else will make me feel better?"
K'ile Twinflame: Heh. Fair point. Take your shots, then. I'm short, too, y'know!
K'luha Haaz: So am I! Nothing wrong with being short. But you've got some smug attitude sometimes.
K'ile Twinflame shrugs, "Well, I won't disagree with that. Part of being a Tia, though, is nobody gives me the time of day if I don't take it."
K'luha Haaz smiled at the ground a bit before shaking her head. "I suppose so. that's just the way it is unforunatly. But... to me... I think you've earned the time of day, anyday."
K'ile Twinflame: I think that's the best compliment I've ever gotten! K'luha has given me the time of day!
You burst out laughing at K'luha Haaz.
K'luha Haaz laughs at you.
K'luha Haaz: Oh shush. You earned it.
K'ile Twinflame smiles at K'luha, "Alright, thanks. And you... uhm..." He thinks for a moment, "You can have my time, too? Does that work?"
K'luha Haaz laughs at you.
K'luha Haaz: Alright. Thank you... can I use your time now to go find K'ailia?
K'ile Twinflame hums. "Probably a good idea. I caught her scent a few minutes ago, so I might as well run off while she's easy to find."
K'luha Haaz nods to you.
K'ile Twinflame squeezes K'luha's shoulder once and then stands.
K'luha Haaz: I'm going to stay in the inn. I don't think she'll want to talk to me tonight but... please tell her that I'm sorry at least.
K'ile Twinflame: I will. And I'll come back once we've talked. I've got no idea how a guy with no gil's supposed to eat around here!
K'luha Haaz laughs at you.
K'luha Haaz dug through her pocket before handing a few coins to K'ile. "That's not a lot of money, but it can buy you and K'ailia a meal at least."
K'ile Twinflame takes the money, moving it between his fingers and looking at it like it's otherworldly, "Huh. Okay. We'll see how it goes!"
K'luha Haaz nods to you.
K'luha Haaz: Good luck. Thank you.
K'ile Twinflame: See ya.
K'luha Haaz bids farewell to you.
K'ile Twinflame walks off down the stairs.
K'luha Haaz slowly made her way down the stairs and through the door. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy, her ears flattened to her head and her tail almost completely limp.
