Now for a better intro, since I'll be stuck doing nothing for a goodly while!
--MMORPG background
My background with MMOs is rather less than my experience with RP itself, but I've played a couple, namely Ragnarok Online (both 1 and 2), FlyFF, Dream of Mirror Online, and World of Warcraft. I've also spent a goodly while monkeying on online servers in both Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, if that counts.
--RP experience
Far more than my MMO experience. I've been roleplaying in various forms for about ten years now. Specifically, I've RPed for tabletop games of D&D and Pathfinder, then spent a good three or four years on a Neverwinter Nights roleplaying server, plus another two on a different one in Neverwinter Nights 2. I've also spent about five years playing on the old text-and-telnet MUSHes and MUXes, namely Final Fantasy MUX and Multiverse Crisis MUSH. At one point I tried RPing on WoW, but by the time I got there most of it was ero stuff, so I missed the boat.
--Character ideas/info
My main character is Estreia Jr'eivra, a Duskwight Elezan who has just recently left the caves of her homeland in search of the powerful magic of the Thaumaturgists and Conjurers. She's rather fresh off the boat, so to speak, and she still has trouble dealing with all the new things around her--namely, the antics of the other races, especially her cousins the Wildwood Elezen.
However, thankfully for her, she's highly intelligent, motivated in her hunt for knowledge and magic, and her social graces aren't entirely impaired--or so she thinks. Truthfully, she's got a rather dry wit when she's not reading or trying to be respectful to elders and masters of magic. Only time will tell just how her new life pans out...
Basically, I'm playing Estreia as a sort of blank slate character. She's new to town, trying to understand what's happening around her, and with recent events, it looks like she's in over her head. A perfect candidate for some nice, fresh character development!Â
--How did you learn about the coalition?
Thank you Amaare Margolis for showing me the way when I was randomly wandering around Ul'dah!
--What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?
I believe I can fit all three rather well, but personally I think I'd be a heavy-to-medium type. The main reason I came onto FFXIV was to explore the world and see the story, and nothing feels better to me than to see the inhabitants of the world all be humanized and characterized.
--Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc)Â
I'm a worker in a Target store, I'm going to school for game design trying to become a creative lead sort of person, I greatly enjoy reading, writing, and playing video games, and I listen to all kinds of music so long as its not country or blatantly insulting! That works, right?
Thanks again for the welcomes!
