Hey there! My name is Portia, though I also go by Pettanko Princess online. I needed a new game to play recently and my friends all got me into FFXIV back when it was released officially. I played for a month on Excalibur then got too busy with school and stopped.
The about a month ago I found out an RL friend of mine played, and he was on an "RP server" and I was like.....wait what, is that a thing? I joined Balmung, hoping to really flesh out a character.
I've been role playing for ABOUTÂ ten years, and holy shit do I feel old saying that. Though I started young, 12 years old on Gaia and RPing the dumbest shit imaginable, we all have to start somewhere and thankfully after a few years I started to really understand and love role playing.
The past two years I've only written with one friend over skype, mostly because we're very particular about how we write and we enjoy each others' style. I'm used to really describing scenes in great length and detail, without the limitations of time for a specific scene....but also without the usefulness of having real character models and scenery! So, the past month I've been playing on Balmung has reaaally been an interesting learning experience.
In any case, I only have a few friends that Portia has had a story with, though I really think it would be more exciting if she met more people. She's really starting to flesh out, and as a writer I am BEYOND excited about her development.
