The villan is oliver gregory. A wildwood elezen who lived a humble life in a small town in gridania. But when a garlean attack destroyed it and slaughtered all of its citizens while oliver was away Oliver was left with nothing. This resulted oliver to start researching human emotions and the mind. He wanted to know exactly what causes suffering and pain so he could help figure out a way to protect from it. The evil deeds we shall be part taking in from this not so sane man will include multiple games of torture to help get data and further his research. Apologies for not including that at first.
