A Recent Encounter
The soft sound of rain falling in the forest was enough to help the Miqo’te relax. Her hair now drenched, her ears twitching as she peered around the landscape, those emerald eyes wary. Poe had returned to the site of her harvest, simply cleaning the area before kneeling within the cleared space. Closing her eyes, she softly murmured thanks to Nophica for the abundance of her crop this season.“I thought I would find you here. So predictable…really.â€
Poe’s eyes opened slightly, barely slits as she turned to face that voice. “Mota…†It had been several cycles since she had last seen her half-sister. To Poe’s disdain, Mota looked exactly the same….fucking perfect.
Her half-sister smiled lazily, sauntering closer as her golden eyes flashed, “You didn’t think you could just run off and no one would keep tabs on you, did you?†Her tone was light and mocking, as if talking to a small child.
Poe only emitted a low growl. She was mad at herself; of course Mota knew the forests just as well as she. How could she have been so foolish to think she was free of her family?
Mota’s lips curled into a provocative smile, tilting her head, “Oh Poe. You look so mad.†Mota leaned in closer with a soft whisper, “Don’t worry. I will find out what else you have been up to.†Turning on her heels, Mota sauntered off again, her hips swaying, “I will see you again.â€
Mota disappeared back within the forest and Poe finally let out an angry snarl, her fist smashing into the freshly turned soil. Her ear’s flattening; she glared in the direction Mota disappeared off in. Shaking her head, Poe covered her face with her hands, unsure of what she would do.
