Poe's Journal Entry
The script is written with a deeper intensity than in earlier posts, the etchings all but carved into the thick parchment. Several small sketches line the sides, if one were to look at the long enough they might recognize the faces of the crew members, drawn perhaps in happier times…I heard the call over the pearl and ran to help. X’hayu had called and soon I found her, getting filled in. S’anhu arrived shortly after. The awkwardness between us was still evident, I was convinced he was upset with me. But I refused to focus on that part and we moved toward collecting the items that had been taken. Kora arrived before we entered. I had heard her name, though we had never been formally introduced.
I hope she treats S’anhu well. I am not sure why I am protective of him, especially since he has all but stopped talking to me. But S’anhu is special to me and if she hurts him…even Menphina will have no mercy. The further we went into the camp, the more I could see the anxiety on S’anhu. Looking at Kora…I think I may know what is going on. Not that it is any of my business. I guess it would explain why S’anhu has been busy, distant. He has an important individual in his life now. He asked her to stay back with me. Rubbed me the wrong way though…once again, Poe couldn’t handle herself. That was the message he was sending.
During one part of the scuffle, S’anhu was knocked unconscious. I was about to rush forward to help him, but remembered my place and simply stood back as Kora tended to him. With S’anhu up again, though I am sure he had one hell of a headache, we gathered the items and raced back.
X’hayu has impressed me. I wouldn’t mind talking with her more to better understand the work she does. She and S’anhu spoke for a while. I had been lingering in hopes of talking to him, I needed to clear the air. But…it was just too awkward. Kora and I formally introduced ourselves and I quickly left, allowing S’anhu to simply ask if I was ok.
I am not sure I am.
